Pilots Fans,

How is everyone doing? The season is right around the corner and we are working hard to make this a fun and exciting season. We are working on our promotional calendar for this season and while we think we have some good ideas, I thought I would ask for any feedback from our fans. Whether it's something that you thought was great and we need to do it again, or it was bad and we need not do it, or any new ideas. Give us your thoughts and feedback. I look forward to hearing your responses. All thoughts will be welcomed and appreciated, no matter how crazy or zany.

See ya!

Hey Jeffrey - not sure if it is really a promotion worth bringing back, but I'm sure glad you had West Virginia night last year.  Without the burning couch, we wouldn't have a 2007 team picture!

Looking forward to the 2008 season!!!

I agree with Ralph, I loved the burnning couch. I think we need a raffel for a chance to sit in the dugout. I would buy a few tickets. also bring back the 50/50, without the ball toss, just sell tickets like you all did a few years back. with the launch a ball you dont have time to run the basses and get over there. See you all in May

I can't wait for the season to start!  I don't have any new ideas for promotions but wanted to say I didn't like the burning couch since it meant the kids couldn't run the bases.  I had one very sad little boy!  I do like Heather's idea of letting a fan sit in the dugout, lol!

Jeff,

I must agree I like the West Virginia night. I do have one suggestion. How about we invite Rip Tide to one of our games? I watched Rip Tide and Slyder interact together at the Chick-fil-a mascot games and they were awesome together.

Hey everyone.  I have a few ideas that might be good.  I like the idea of Rip-Tide.  I have a good time working with him and we perform pretty good together.  Another idea is have a March of Dimes game, Breast Cancer Awareness, Animal Humane Society, or other charitable ideas.Enlarge photo 74Slyder

So I'm not going to take credit for the West Virginia night but, being a true WVU fan, I will for the couch burning idea!   I do have an idea for a promotional night, Speed Dating. I believe will be doing this at a JMU basketball game next season. Sounds odd, but its a great way to get new fans into the park. Free ticket if they sign up. Reserve the deck for the "daters" and at the bottom of every inning, have them rotate. Advertise in the bars! Just an idea...

I remember in 2006 you did a promo night called "go back in time" night.  I think it was a birthday for the stadium, I can't really remember but during certain innings popcorn, peanuts and hotdogs were the same prices as it was when the stadium first opened.  I think that would be a cool idea.    Slyder.

I know I'm a little late replying, but I would like to see t-shirt night come back.  My family would prefer more specials and giveaways and fewer fireworks displays.  Fireworks prep creates parking havoc and although the displays are nice, it's not something unique.  I agree with the 50/50 ticket sale without launch-a-ball.
Has anyone set up a Scouting night?

Yes, we need a Scout Night.  Hank, I'll help set it up with the Boy Scouts if you contact me.  I'm Jackson's mom from Little League.  The Boy Scouts have been making these big pumpkin-flinging devices this year.  It would be neat to see them fling some baseballs or something bigger across the field.  One year I believe they camped on the field after a game.  A July date would be great.  Another promotion idea would be something Olympics-related.

I missed West Virginia Night, but a Scout Night in July would be great. We brought our Pack to a game last year and they had a blast.

I have a 6-year-old daughter that I'd like to introduce to baseball. I didn't see any type of promotions on the web site that would pertain to children. What is there??

Hey there, I dont know about promotions, but as a long time pilots fan I will tell you there is plenty for your six year old. Pilots games are fantastic for kids of all ages. The Mascot Slyder is always in the stands, interacting with everyone, and between innings there is usually something going on, the players are all great and ready to sign something or interact wit the kids. also at the end of the game they invite the kids out onto the field to run the bases. come on out to a game. you will find it very kid and family welcome.

Cool. That's what I wanted to know, especially about the mascot. I hope that the web site continues to progress, and information like that will be available.

Thanks!

Hey Jeff,

I like the promotions you're doing.   I do NOT like the burning couch... it's very environmentally unfriendly.  Feed it into a shredder maybe, but please don't burn another one.

My boys like getting signatures from the players, and they loved it when they have been picked to get onto the field (any reason... doesn't matter).

I liked the idea of letting people sit in the dugout... you could rotate that every few innings to allow more people through (and make sure you talk to the players to keep their language appropriate around kids!).

Maybe let some people throw from the mound area and see the speed of their pitch on the fancy big board?

With hot nights like last night was (and tonight will be), maybe set up some water sprinkler areas (haven't you done that before near the beer?) for the kids to cool off in.

I also love the idea of camping on the field.  I hope to sign my boys up for the sleepover camp, but the price on that is really high. It's a great idea.

And while speed dating like the other post-er suggested doesn't apply to me or my boys (yet!), I think that would be a hoot!  I'd love to sit behind some of the speed daters just to evesdrop!

Maybe have a Little League night too... allow kids who show up in their uniform in for free...
